Bulk update is taking a long time to process
Issue
When processing a bulk update using the Bulk management tools, the bulk update tool appears to stall or takes a long time to finish processing.
Environment
- Shopify Checkout Integration
- Migrated Shopify Checkout Integration
- Recharge Checkout on BigCommerce
Resolution
There are a few troubleshooting steps to complete to address longer than usual bulk update processing:
Size
When bulk updating a large file of subscriptions or charges, the bulk update tools may take a few minutes to complete. Smaller files may appear to jump from 0% to 100% immediately, while larger files will show progress in increments as the update is processed.
The Bulk managing subscriptions tool can only process up to 25,000 records at a time. It is recommended to split the records into multiple CSV files or try running bulk updates on smaller batches of records if you are using the import tool.
Use a CSV file instead of the multi-select tool
If you are using the multi-select tool and encounter an issue with the tool stalling or not completing the bulk update, it is recommended to prepare a CSV file and use the import tool instead. For instructions on preparing a CSV file, use the bulk update chart to locate instructions for your specific update.
Check tool status
Recharge will report on the status page if there is any unforeseen downtime related to the tooling.
