Can I set up order processing to accommodate my time zone?
By default, charges start processing for recurring queued orders between midnight and 3 AM ET for the current day. Prepaid shipments process separately from regular subscription orders but use the same default charge processing window. Generally, prepaid shipments are not processed simultaneously as regular subscription orders. This is standard for stores that have not set a specific processing time.
If a customer's charge fails to process, Recharge retries the charge the next day. Charge errors are automatically retried according to your automatic retry settings at 4 PM ET on the charge retry date.
Merchants processing in another time zone may decide to adjust their store's processing time to better accommodate their business needs. Use a tool such as the Time Zone Converter to determine the correct time for Recharge to start processing your orders and contact the Recharge Support team to adjust. Recharge can set the exact hour that your store orders start processing.
Note: Daylight saving time affects the processing time for all stores, as Recharge uses ET for charge processing.
Merchants operating in East Australia time, for example, are processing on different days. For instance Saturday, February 16 6:00PM ADST would be Friday, February 15th 7:00PM UTC. In this case, the charges dated the 15th would begin processing at 7PM UTC on the 15th which would be the 16th for the merchant in Australia.
As a workaround, Recharge suggests that you start processing charges after 5AM UTC and finish before 12PM UTC. This keeps processing times to the same day and ensures charges processed on the 15th at 5AM UTC would start on the 15th at 4PM ADST.
You can also change the charge date to process a day before. In this same example, a merchant who wanted charges processed at 6PM ADST on the 15th would need to set the customer's charge date to the 14th at 7PM UTC. It is important to note that customers can see the charge date, which could be confusing, in this case, Recharge recommends customizing the Delivery Schedule text in Translations to communicate that to your customer.
