Offering different shipping rates for subscriptions and one-time products
You may want to offer a specific shipping rate for subscribers that is different from the rates available for your one-time products.
This guide explains how to configure your shipping settings to offer subscription-specific rates.
- Recharge Checkout on BigCommerce
- Shopify Checkout Integration
- Migrated Shopify Checkout Integration
Before you start
The setup used to configure subscription-specific shipping rates depends on your store's platform. Review the platform-specific steps below:
Recharge Checkout on BigCommerce
One-time purchases are processed through BigCommerce and use BigCommerce's shipping settings. Rates must be configured on Recharge using Recharge Zones and Rates to create shipping rules for all subscription checkouts and recurring orders.
Shopify Checkout Integration
Shopify shipping profiles can be used to create a subscription-specific profile on your Shopify settings and connect it with Recharge.
Migrated Shopify Checkout Integration
How you handle shipping will differ based on the subscriber's initial subscription date and whether they are an existing subscriber or new subscriber. See Customer management on the Migrated Shopify Checkout Integration platform for more information.
For new customers, these will process through the Shopify Checkout. Shopify shipping profiles can be used to create a subscription-specific profile on your Shopify settings and connect it with Recharge.
For pre-existing customers, the most straightforward way to configure subscription-specific rates is to use Recharge Zones and Rates to create shipping rules for all recurring subscription orders.
