Can I block a customer from subscribing?
Yes, you can block a customer in Recharge to prevent recurring charges from processing. When you block a customer, Recharge stops processing future recurring charges for that customer.
How to block a customer
Go to Customers in your Recharge merchant portal and select Customers.
Locate the customer you wish to block.
Select the pencil icon next to the customer's name.
Enable the option to Block customer.
Confirm and save your selection.
To process recurring orders again for that customer in the future, follow the steps above and unselect Block customer.
What happens when you block a customer
Recharge does not process future recurring charges for the customer.
Existing subscriptions remain on the customer’s account, but Recharge does not process charges while the customer is blocked.
You can unblock the customer at any time to resume normal charge processing.
Customer timeline
Recharge records all blocking activity in the customer’s timeline.
The timeline shows when a customer was blocked or unblocked.
The timeline indicates who performed the action.
Additional fraud prevention options
If you want to prevent customers from completing checkout, consider using fraud-prevention tools.
Recharge integrates with Wyllo to help you build advanced blacklist rules and block unwanted order behavior.
If you are using the Shopify Checkout Integration or BigCommerce Checkout Integration, you can also use their built-in fraud prevention settings to block customers from checking out.
