Updating legacy metrics and properties in Klaviyo
Recharge created the latest Klaviyo integration in 2021 to unlock additional metrics and customer data in Klaviyo, allowing you to send personalized notifications to your customers based on their subscription data. Klaviyo is the official app supported by Recharge. This integration is available through the Apps Marketplace in your Recharge merchant portal.
Stores using legacy metrics or custom properties must update to the latest event metrics and custom properties available with Recharge's Klaviyo integration. This guide explains how to recreate existing flows in Klaviyo.

Review and recreate existing flows in Klaviyo
Review all Klaviyo flows and segments to see if your store uses legacy metrics or legacy custom properties. You must update all flows and segments to use relevant properties and metrics.
Swap custom properties
If your store uses the legacy custom properties below, swap these out with rc_active_subscriber and rc_active_products. Identify if your store is using legacy custom properties by checking in your segment, flow filters, and email templates.

Rebuild existing flows
If your store uses the legacy metrics below, rebuild existing flows by replacing the legacy metric with the corresponding updated metric.
- Create new flows in Klaviyo using the new metrics listed below.
- Set any old flows using the legacy metrics to Draft status.
Alternatively, you can clone the legacy metric.
- Navigate to the Flows tab in your Klaviyo account.
- Click the kabob menu next to the legacy flow to clone, click Edit, then select Clone.
- This will allow you to copy the legacy details over with the ability to select a new Trigger.
- For example, if you're cloning the Subscription Started legacy metric, you can update the new Trigger to be the Subscription Started on Recharge metric.
- Once the clone is created, set any old flows using the legacy metrics to a Draft status. Be sure to set the status of the cloned flow to live.
