Handling "Payment Provider is Not Enabled” error when using Shopify Payment Partner Platform
Sections
Issue
The new Shopify Payment Partner Platform introduces a new method for payment processors to integrate with Shopify. However, this feature does not currently support subscriptions. If merchants migrate to this new version, their subscription charges will fail. Shopify has sent emails encouraging some merchants to migrate to the new Payment Partner Platform. However, merchants who use subscriptions should not make this change and should remain on the current payment platform until it supports subscriptions.

Resolution
Merchants who have already switched to the new version and are encountering issues with their recurring billing should use the following URL provided by Shopify to switch back their payment processor. Replace {store_name} with your personal store name (everything before .myshopify.com).
The URL is: https://admin.shopify.com/store/{store_name}/settings/payments/third-party-providers/7
Stores that have not yet migrated to the Shopify Payment Partner Platform should keep using the legacy version until recurring billing functionality is added. If you experience any issues reverting or have questions about subscription functionality with the new feature, reach out to Shopify Support.
