Confirm whether your store uses a Shopify 2.0 theme

Many Recharge features require a Shopify 2.0 theme. This guide explains how to confirm whether your published Shopify theme supports Online Store 2.0.

Before you start

• All themes available through the Shopify Theme Store are Online Store 2.0 themes.

• If you've renamed your theme or are unsure which version you're using, follow the steps below to confirm.

• Consider upgrading to a Shopify 2.0 theme if you are using an older theme to improve performance and to take advantage of new features, both from Shopify and Recharge.

Step 1 - Open your published theme

1. Log in to your Shopify admin.
2. Click Online Store and select Themes.
3. Click Customize on your published theme.

Step 2 - Check for Online Store 2.0 sections

1. At the top of the theme editor, click the page selector.
2. Select Products, then choose Default product.
3. Review the left-hand sidebar.

If the page contains configurable Sections, your store is using a Shopify 2.0 theme.

Expected outcome

If sections are available in the Shopify theme editor, your store is using a Shopify 2.0 theme and can use Recharge features that require Online Store 2.0.
