Recharge's Product Subscription Plans provide increased flexibility and control over the subscription creation and management experience. You can convert to Product Subscription Plans at any time if you meet the conversion requirements.

This guide covers the conversion requirements and configuration steps.

Before you start

• Your store must meet the standard requirements before you can convert to Product Subscription Plans. Review the conversion requirements to confirm your store is prepared to convert.
• Review the list of Product Subscription Plan considerations before converting to this feature.
• Converting to Product Subscription Plans automatically updates the plan type for existing customers and their products. You do not need to manually update plans for existing customers post-conversion.

Conversion requirements

To use Product Subscription Plans in your store, you must ensure that:

• The Shopify Checkout is enabled
• The Affinity customer portal theme is active

Product Subscription Plans are only compatible with the Shopify Checkout Integration. Review Identifying your store's Recharge checkout platform to confirm your store’s platform.

Product Subscription Plans are only compatible with the Affinity customer portal theme. Review Using the Affinity customer portal theme for more information on the portal’s benefits, and installation steps.

If your store uses a custom customer portal theme, contact your Recharge Account Manager to confirm you are using the correct endpoints with Product Subscription Plans. 

Convert to Product Subscription Plans 

Make sure that your store meets the conversion requirements, and that you've read the available considerations, before converting to Product Support Plans: 

1. Select Products in your Recharge merchant portal and click Products from the dropdown.
2. An in-app pop-up will appear, prompting you to update your store to Product Subscription Plans. Select Update my experience to convert to using Product Subscription Plans.

All of your Shopify products will be available on the Product page in Recharge once the conversion process is successful. From there, you can start creating plans for your products.
