Recurring orders processing stopped for the Recharge Checkout
Starting March 31st, 2025, subscriptions created through the Recharge Checkout, or Recharge Checkout API, will no longer have their existing subscription orders processed.
This guide explains how this change will affect you if you haven’t converted to the Shopify Checkout Integration, and what you can do to ensure a seamless transition for your customers before this date.
- Recharge Checkout on Shopify
Overview
On October 18th, 2024 subscription apps not directly integrated with Shopify Checkout stopped accepting and processing new orders created through the Recharge Checkout or Recharge Checkout API. See Recharge Checkout no longer accessible for more information.
Most merchants have migrated to the Shopify Checkout Integration to ensure functionality. If you haven’t migrated yet, you must convert to the Shopify Checkout Integration before March 31st, 2025, to keep processing existing subscription orders as normal.
Along with ending recurring order processing on March 31st, the following features will no longer function if you do not convert:
- Upcoming order webhooks
- The Order upcoming on ReCharge Klaviyo event metric
- Recharge out-of-the-box notifications
- Charge processing functionality through the API, or merchant/customer portals
Note: Recharge will continue to process queued prepaid shipments until the customer’s prepaid order is fulfilled.
