A customer may reach out to request an update to their information, such as their name, phone number, or email address. Customers can make this update in the customer portal, but as the store owner you can also adjust the address directly in the merchant portal.
This guide provides instructions on how to update a customer's name, phone number, or email address.

- Shopify Customer Sync will update customer's first name, last name, email, phone number, tax exemption status, and email marketing preference for customer information between Recharge and Shopify. See Using Shopify Customer Sync to update customer details for more information.
Update customer information
- In the merchant portal, click Customers and select Customers from the dropdown. Search and select the customer you want to update.
- In the Customer Overview section, click Edit customer.
- Update the customer information and click Save.
