How can I translate the Subscription Widget?

Step 1 - Access the Subscription Widget
Once you've duplicated the widget, access it by navigating to the Subscription Widget:
- In the merchant portal, click Grow and select Product page.
- Navigate to the Subscription widget and select Customize subscription widget.
Optional - Duplicate the widget
You cannot change the widgets configured as part of an A/B test experience after activating the experience. Recharge recommends duplicating your existing experience and applying your changes to the new one to make edits or update the widget.
Follow the steps in Subscription Widget - Edit the widget if you need to make any changes to A/B test widgets, including updating the benefit text or editing the interval labels.
Step 2 - Update the widget copy
Recharge provides default copy in English to display your subscription benefits to customers when they interact with the widget. You must translate any benefits or one-time purchase drawbacks to your preferred language.
Review Step 3- Customize the widget experience to confirm that you've updated all of the necessary text within the widget settings.
Step 3 - Update the frequency details translations
By default, the widget displays frequency details to customers in English. You must translate the frequency details if you would like them to appear in a different language.
Translating the frequency details depends on your Subscription Widget settings. You can translate the frequencies in your Subscription Widget settings if your frequency details are set to Interval settings. If you configured the frequency details settings to pull from the plan name, you must update the translations in the Product Subscription Plans settings.
Intervals
Update the interval labels that display a product's frequency details. These updates apply to all subscription products:
- In the merchant portal, click Grow and select Product page.
- Navigate to the Subscription widget and select Customize subscription widget.
- Under Subscription widget settings click Interval labels.
- Edit the Interval labels.
- Click Done when finished.
To translate the "Save" setting:
- Under Subscription widget settings, click Labels and inputs.
- Ensure the Frequency details is set to "Interval".
- Edit the Frequency save translation.
Product Subscription Plans
The Subscription Widget uses the plan name you set when creating your product subscription plans to display the frequency detail settings to customers on the product page. Edit the plan name directly to change the frequency details customers see:
- Select Products in the Recharge merchant portal.
- Click on the product that needs updating to open the editor.
- Click on the pencil icon and edit the Plan name.
- Click Update to save your changes.
You must update the name of each plan assigned to a product to translate all frequency details.
Step 4 - Save and activate the widget
After applying your changes, save and activate the widget. If you made a copy of your original widget, deactivate your original widget by following the steps in Subscription Widget - Edit the widget.
