Can one-time customers use Referrals?
Any customer, whether for a one-time purchase or a subscription, can participate in Referrals.
Friend discounts by default are eligible for all purchase types (one-time and subscription). You can choose to restrict redemption to a specific purchase type by updating the discount settings in Shopify.
One-time customers can be advocates and share their referral URL through several methods listed below.
Customer portal
Through Affinity, one-time customers are created in Recharge with an active Referral configuration. They will have access to the Affinity customer portal and referral widget directly within the portal.
Stores using Shopify's new customer accounts can create a dedicated rewards page in the customer account using the Recharge 'Credits' app block, allowing customer to access their referral link and view or apply their credit balance.
After checkout
The 'Refer friends after checkout' template allows you to promote the referral offering on the Thank you page after a customer completes checkout. See Display a referral link after checkout for more information.
Marketing emails
Promote your referrals program and remind customers to refer friends by embedding customers' unique referral links in marketing emails. See Automatically remind advocates to share their referral link for more information.
