Instructions for your customers using the Unity customer portal theme
This guide provides information and instructions that your customers can use to navigate the Unity customer portal theme.
Note:
- Review Shopify's Customer accounts and legacy customer accounts to understand the differences between the Unity customer portal and the legacy customer accounts.
Login
With the Unity customer portal, customers only need to login to Shopify to make changes to their subscriptions. See Using the Unity customer portal for more information.
Edit your account details
To edit general information, see Shopify's guide on Updating customer accounts.
Add payment method
Only customers with an active subscription contract can see the Payment methods section on their profile page. For SCI(m) stores, this means Recharge-bill customers who don't have a contract cannot add or edit their payment methods from the profile. See Considerations of Using the Unity customer portal for further information.
To add a new payment method:
- Login to your customer portal.
- Click Profile.
- Under Payment methods, select +Add a payment method and select Save.
To apply this new payment method to all subscriptions, click Assign a payment method to subscriptions.
To apply this payment method to specific subscriptions only:
- Navigate to the Subscriptions tab.
- Click View and manage order.
- Scroll to the bottom and find the Order details
- Click Edit for Payment.
- Update the payment and click Save changes.
Add or edit your address
Adding or editing an address in Shopify under Profile will not update the subscription order in Recharge. To ensure the queued order goes to the new address, you must update the address for the subscriptions.
To add or edit an address for your subscriptions:
- Login to your customer portal.
- Navigate to Profile.
- Click View and manage order.
- Under Subscription addresses, click +Add or the pencil icon to edit the address.
Swap products
To swap a product:
- Login to your customer portal.
- Navigate to Subscriptions.
- Scroll to the product and select Edit options.
- Click Swap for a different product.
- Select the new product and click Swap.
- Confirm Swap.
Process your order immediately
Process your order immediately rather than the order date originally scheduled.
After an order is processed, the next charge date for the subscription in the order gets recalculated based on the subscriptions frequency. For example, if the subscription gets delivered every month and today is January 1st, after I click order now, my next order will now happen on February 1st.
To send your order now:
- Login to your customer portal.
- Navigate to Subscriptions.
- Click View and manage order.
- Select Send now.
Skip your next order
To skip your next order:
- Login to your customer portal.
- Navigate to Subscriptions.
- Click View and manage order.
- Click the More actions dropdown and select Skip.
- Select Confirm: skip subscription.
Delay or edit your next order date
While you're changing the date, following orders will be rescheduled based on this next order and the delivery frequency of the subscription.
- Login to your customer portal.
- Navigate to Subscriptions.
- Click View and manage order.
- Click the More actions dropdown and select Reschedule.
- Choose the reschedule date and press Reschedule.
Edit the delivery frequency for a subscription
To edit the frequency for a subscription:
- Login to your customer portal.
- Navigate to Subscriptions.
- Scroll to the product and select Edit options.
- Select the Frequency from the drop-down and click Save.
Add a product to an order
To add a product to an order:
- Login to your customer portal.
- Navigate to Subscriptions.
- Scroll to the products at the bottom.
- Click Add to order.
Add a discount
Discounts get associated with an address and discounts will be applied to all orders linked to that address as long as the coupon is valid.
To add a discount code:
- Login to your customer portal.
- Navigate to Subscriptions.
- Select View and manage orders.
- Click Add a discount code.
- Enter the code and press Save.
Cancel a subscription
To cancel your subscription:
- Login to your customer portal.
- Navigate to Subscriptions.
- Click Active subscriptions.
- Click Edit options on the product you want to cancel.
- Select Cancel this subscription.
Reactivate a subscription
If you want to reactivate a subscription that was previously cancelled:
- Login to your customer portal.
- Navigate to Subscriptions.
- Click Inactive subscriptions and View the Subscription to reactivate.
- Select Restart Subscription.
Add or swap Bundles
To add or swap a new Bundle through the Unity customer portal:
To add:
- Login to your customer portal.
- Navigate to Subscriptions.
- Scroll to the products at the bottom.
- Click Add to order on the bundle product.
To swap:
- Login to your customer portal.
- Navigate to Subscriptions.
- Scroll to the product and click on it.
- Select Swap for a different product.
- Choose the product you want to switch to.
- Click Confirm swap.
Update Bundle contents
To manage your existing Bundles within the customer portal
- Login to your customer portal.
- Navigate to Subscriptions.
- Under Active Subscriptions, select Edit options for the bundle.
- Click Edit contents.
- Update contents and press Save.
