Understanding subscription models
There are many ways to set up subscription models. This guide provides an overview of popular subscription types and how to configure your subscription rules. For a general overview of subscription rules, see Creating subscription rules.
Subscriptions with multiple frequencies
Setting multiple subscription frequency options gives your customers a subscription schedule that fits their needs.
You can use Product Subscription Plans to seamlessly offer customers different subscription frequencies, providing you the flexibility to offer subscription frequencies in days, weeks, and months for one product.
If you are not using Product Subscription Plans, you can set frequency schedules in days, weeks, or months, but all frequencies within the subscription must be consistent. For example, you can offer a subscription on a 2-week or 4-week frequency, but you cannot mix two weeks and one month.
Charge on a specific day of the month
You have the flexibility to set the billing day of the month for all of your customers. With this option enabled, customers pay for their first charge upfront and their checkout charge will apply to the upcoming month. Their next recurring bill date will happen on the specified date. You must set the frequency to Months to use this option.
Prepaid annual subscription
A prepaid annual subscription means your customers receive the product every month but only pay once per year.
Note: Refer to the guide on Configuring a prepaid subscription to learn more about configuring and managing prepaid subscriptions.
Pre-orders
Pre-ordering is not available at this time. Customers must place an order when they are ready to subscribe.
Quarterly subscriptions
Use Recharge's Automate tool to create quarterly subscriptions. See How to set up a Scheduled quarterly shipments experience.
