Identifying your store's Recharge checkout platform
Recharge offers multiple checkout platform options to best suit your business needs. Available features and troubleshooting steps may differ depending on your platform type.
This guide provides an overview of each Recharge platform type, how to check which platform your store is using, and other tips to ensure you are referencing the most accurate information while using the Recharge Help Center, or contacting Recharge support.
Recharge platform types
The platform type that is shown in your store differs depending on the Order Management System (OMS) that you are using, and when you installed Recharge.

Recharge Checkout on Shopify |
Available to merchants who use Shopify as their OMS and installed Recharge before November 2nd, 2020. You also have access to this platform if you uninstalled Recharge before November 2nd, 2020, and have since re-installed the app. |
Customers purchasing subscription products have their initial order processed through the Recharge Checkout. The checkout process is completely separate from Shopify. |

Shopify Checkout Integration | Available to merchants who use Shopify as their OMS and installed Recharge after November 2nd, 2020. |
Customers purchasing subscription products have their initial order processed through the Shopify Checkout, using one of Shopify’s eligible subscription payment processors. See Shopify feature compatibility to learn more about available features. |

Migrated Shopify Checkout Integration |
Available to merchants that converted from the Recharge Checkout on Shopify with existing subscribers, or migrated from another subscription platform (not using the Shopify Checkout), to the Shopify Checkout Integration. |
Migrated subscribers continue to be processed via their current payment gateway. New subscription orders are processed through the Shopify Checkout. See Converting or migrating to the Shopify Checkout Integration. |

Developers can customize the entire checkout process. Checkout orders for subscription products are processed via the Recharge Checkout API. |
Confirm your store's platform in the merchant portal
- Click Settings in your merchant portal and select Store.
- Confirm the platform in use under Account status.
Navigate the Recharge Help Center based on your platform
Knowing which platform your store uses ensures that you are referencing the correct documentation in the Recharge Help Center. You can filter articles and search queries to only show those relevant to a specific platform.
Filter search results by platform
- Enter your search query using the search bar on the Recharge Help Center homepage or any article page.
- Select a platform in the Filter by platform section to only show relevant search results for that platform.

Use the Filter by platform dropdown to only show relevant articles for that platform.
Determine which platform is relevant to an article
All articles include icons under the title to identify which platform it is relevant to. Hover over these icons to see the full platform name.
Platform callouts are also used to further identify which platform is relevant to the article or a specific section within the article.
