Why do I have less data powering my subscription and cart analytics than expected?
- Shopify Checkout Integration
- Migrated Shopify Checkout Integration
Recharge now respects the analytics consent set by Shopify’s native privacy banner.
If a customer declines analytics tracking, the Recharge pixel does not fire. As a result, their activity is not included in the subscription widget or cart performance metrics.
This update aligns Recharge with Shopify’s consent framework and helps merchants comply with privacy laws such as GDPR, CPRA, and VCDPA, which classify tracking pixels as personal data collection.
Additional notes:
- In regions where Shopify’s privacy banner is not shown, analytics collection remains unchanged
If you use a third-party consent management platform (CMP), it must send consent signals to Shopify using the window.Shopify.customer Privacy API for tracking to work correctly
