Bundles widget or contents are not displayed on the product page
Issue
The Bundles widget fails to appear as intended on the product page or items are not appearing in the selection portion of the Bundles widget.
Environment

- Migrated Shopify Checkout Integration
Resolution
Situation 1 - A specific collection of products or bundle content items are not appearing as expected in the Bundles widget
There are a couple reasons why this may occur:
- Parent bundle and content products do not match
- Multiple collections configured to the same bundle
- Fixed-price bundle contents cannot be set as subscription only
- One-time plan not enabled for bundle products
- Add-on product settings are not configured correctly
- Bundle content visibility is set to off
Parent bundle and content products plans do not match
If the Bundle is a dynamically-priced customizable bundle, the Bundle content products must be added to Recharge separately. The subscription frequencies and discounts must be the same for all products in a bundle and the parent bundle product.
Here's an example of how an error can happen when setting up a customizable bundle with dynamic pricing, where the plan discounts differ:
Parent bundle product
- Subscription and one-time
- Discount is set to 10%
Bundle contents product
- Subscription and one-time
- Discount is set to 15%
To update the subscription plan:
- In the Recharge merchant portal, click Products and then select Products from the drop-down.
- Click on the product you want to update.
- Click the pencil icon next to the plan listed for that product.
- Edit the plan.
- Click Save to save changes.
Bundle contents are in multiple collections for the same bundle
The contents will not appear in the widget if they are in multiple collections that are configured to the same bundle.
Fixed-price bundle contents cannot be set as subscription only
If the Bundle is a fixed-price bundle, the Bundle content products cannot set as subscription only. The Only show this product with these purchase options checkbox must be unchecked on Shopify.
One-time plan not enabled for bundle products
If your bundle is intended to be one-time only, the one-time purchase option must be explicitly enabled in Recharge for both the parent bundle and all associated content products.
Add-on product settings are not configured correctly
Add-on products are only available for purchase if the add-on products are available in Recharge and have the same delivery frequency rule as the parent bundle product. Add-on products and collections are not available to customers if these two rules are not met.
Bundle content visibility is set to off
If one collection in your bundle has the Visibility setting disabled, that collection will not appear in the widget. Turn Visibility on to ensure the content display correctly. You can review and update his setting when you configure the bundle rules.
Situation 2 - The Bundles widget does not appear on the product page
There are a couple reasons why this may occur:
- Product not setup for the Online Store sales channel
- Confirm bundle files have been installed
- Bundle must be published
- Preset bundle contents will not automatically appear on the product page
- The bundle product URL was updated in Shopify
- Bundle content visibility is set to off
Product not setup for the Online Store sales channel
Review the product in Shopify to confirm that the main bundle product and bundle collection are active and configured for the Online Store sales channel. The widget will not render if any of the collections selected are not setup for the Online Store sales channel.
Confirm bundle files have been installed
Confirm that the bundle files have been correctly installed to the live theme
- In the merchant portal, click Products and select Bundles.
- In the Tools section, click Install theme files.
- Confirm by selecting Reinstall Template.
Bundle must be published
Ensure the bundle is published and the product template in Shopify is set to recharge-bundle. The bundle must be published for the widget to appear on the storefront.
Preset bundle contents will not automatically appear on the product page
Preset bundles use the standard Shopify product page format rather than the Bundles widget. The preset bundle contents will not automatically appear on this page.
- You can add a description of what is included in the preset bundle directly in the Shopify product descriptions.
- Create a custom product template in the Shopify theme editor.
The bundle product URL was updated in Shopify
Updating the URL of a bundle product in Shopify may cause bundle contents to not load properly. To fix this issue:
- Make any changes to the bundle settings.
- Click Save.
- Revert the change.
- Click Save again.
This process resets the product cache, allowing the bundle contents to load correctly.
Bundle content visibility is set to off
If you turn off the Visibility setting for a bundle collection, the widget will not appear. The same happens if you have multiple collections and all of them have Visibility setting turned off. Make sure you turn Visibility on. You can review and update this setting when you configure the bundle rules.
