Can I change my payment method with PayPal?
PayPal payment methods must be configured at checkout as Braintree/PayPal requires an additional verification step that can only be completed via the checkout process. Customers will need to process a new subscription product at checkout to switch to using PayPal or change the PayPal account used.
If the customer wants to adjust the payment method used in their existing PayPal account they can adjust the payment method directly in their PayPal account or cancel their subscription and go through checkout again.
Customers can replace PayPal as their payment method with a credit card in their customer portal. An additional credit card must be on file before switching or removing the payment method. Review Updating payment methods for steps to adjust the payment method on file.
