How do I manage products or variants with multiple plans that have the same frequency settings?
- Shopify Checkout Integration
- Migrated Shopify Checkout Integration
If you use Product Subscription Plans or Variant Level Plans, you may want to offer a product or variant with multiple plans that have the same frequency settings, ie. offering a product as either of the following options:
- As a one-month plan when customers sign up
- As a one-month plan always on the first of the month
Subscription Plan settings are configured in Recharge and then synced with Shopify so that Shopify can present the subscription options to customers on the product details page.
Checkout orders
After a customer makes their Plan selection and completes the checkout process, Shopify sends the plan information to Recharge and confirms the customer's plan selection. All data is managed in Recharge after the checkout is complete. The Plan data associated with the checkout order in Shopify is always accurate and can be referenced from the Shopify order page.
Recurring orders
Recharge places the recurring order automatically for customers based on the Plan frequency selected.
If you have multiple plans with the same frequency (ie. two different one-month plans), Shopify might show a different plan than the one a customer selected at checkout. This does not affect recurring orders. The plan displayed for recurring orders in Shopify doesn't affect the plan a customer selected at checkout because, after checkout, all orders and subscription settings are managed by Recharge, not Shopify.
The View subscription link on both the checkout and recurring orders in Shopify directs you to the same subscription in Recharge where you can view all the customer's orders, history of changes, and current subscription settings.
