Recharge billing and pricing
The Recharge pricing plans are tailored to meet your business needs. Whether you are a new store or well-established, you will receive top-notch technical support and access to apps and features that help you grow and enhance your subscription business.
Pricing
Start with Recharge's 60-day trial to try the tools and resources available to help you seamlessly scale your subscription business. During this trial period, there are no transaction or processing fees. After the 60-day trial, Recharge bills monthly.
After the trial, merchants who are not under contract and have 50 or fewer cumulative lifetime customers are placed on the 25-50 plan. This plan is available only to net-new merchants installing Recharge on or after February 9, 2026. Existing stores are not eligible to downgrade to this plan.
Once your store surpasses 50 cumulative lifetime customers, it automatically transitions to the Starter plan. The customer count is based on the cumulative lifetime number of distinct customers who have made a subscription purchase. This includes active, inactive, and test customers. Deleting a customer from Recharge does not reduce this count.
After your store moves to the Starter plan, it won't be downgraded to the 25-50 plan if your customer count later drops below 50.
Recharge charges transaction fees for both one-time and recurring subscription orders. Transaction fees are calculated monthly based on the total processed amount, including shipping, taxes, and refunded orders. If an order is refunded, the transaction fee still applies because Recharge has already processed the transaction.
Recharge's pricing is separate from any fees charged by your ecommerce platform or payment processor. Refer to Shopify's app page for Pricing details or Recharge's Pricing page for detailed information on our transaction and processing fees.
Keep in mind that the payment processor you use may also carry a transaction fee. For more information, visit:

Shopify Checkout Integration
Shopify merchants who installed Recharge on or after August 18, 2021, and are using the Shopify Checkout Integration can begin processing subscription charges before accepting the billing approval terms. Following the 60-day trial, there is a fixed monthly fee to use Recharge.
Agreeing to the billing terms means being charged $25 per month on the 25-50 plan, or $99 per month plus 1.25% of the total amount of the transaction, and 19¢ per transaction on the Starter plan. This includes one-time purchases under mixed charges.
Recharge charges are billed through Shopify using the payment method on file with your Shopify account. For more information, see Shopify's guides on App charges for subscriptions and App usage charges.
You will be prompted to accept the billing terms upon entry of your merchant portal. Learn more below:
- Upon entering the merchant portal for the first time, a dismissible pop-up will display your sixty day free trial, the pricing plan, and the billing terms.
- You will see a banner showing the number of days remaining in your trial period. This banner is shown at the top of every page in your merchant portal and cannot be dismissed until the store owner accepts the billing terms.
- At 60 days, a non-dismissible pop-up notifies you to accept billing terms in order to continue processing your subscriptions. At this point, you will not be able to access Recharge until the store owner accepts the billing terms.
For Shopify Checkout Integration stores (including those that have migrated to the Shopify Checkout Integration), billing is processed directly through Shopify. For more information about subscription app fees and app usage fees, refer to Shopify's guides App charges for subscriptions and App usage charges.
Shopify invoice timing
Recharge bills monthly on the first of the month, while Shopify bills apps on a rolling 30-day billing cycle. Because these billing schedules don't always align, your Shopify invoice may occasionally show multiple Recharge usage fees.
Although the invoice lists multiple usage fees together, each charge was issued during a different billing period and combined onto the same Shopify invoice due to Shopify's billing cycle. For more information about app billing, see Shopify's App charges guide.
Recharge Checkout on BigCommerce and BigCommerce Checkout Integration
Recharge bills the credit card on file listed under Store Settings in your Recharge merchant portal.

The 25-50 and Starter plans are month-to-month and don't require a contract. If you're on a Custom plan, your contract terms are determined during the sales process. Merchants on a Custom plan generally can't cancel during the contract period. If you're unsure whether you're under contract, check your Billing page or contact Recharge Support.
