Overview
Recharge is on a mission to turn transactions into relationships. Recharge powers smarter subscription experiences to help innovative brands drive more revenue.
Recharge Agency Partner mission
We are building a mutually beneficial and interdependent Retention Services partner ecosystem that enables Recharge, and our partners, to grow exponentially.
Agencies have been core to the success of Recharge and our merchants from the very beginning, helping Recharge products come to life. As a Recharge Agency Partner, you’ll get access to tools, training, and responsive support you need to deliver frictionless retention services for your merchants. You will also gain access to revenue share for merchant referrals to Recharge, introduction to merchants requiring agency support, and opportunities to contribute as thought leaders in our event and co-marketing initiatives.

Program Requirements
Application approval
To become a Recharge partner, we would first like to learn more about your business to determine if our program is a good fit. We will be interested to learn your business service, your typical client profile, technologies you work with, and other partnerships. You can begin by filling out our Agency Partner Application Form here.
Once the form is completed, someone from our team will review your application and if approved, you will be contacted to discuss next steps.
Partner terms
In order to participate in the Recharge Agency Partner Program, you must agree to the Terms.
Tiers
Partners will be reviewed for eligibility for tier promotions every quarter based on their performance over the prior 12 months and will keep the highest tier level they reached through the end of each calendar year.
At the end of every year, all partners will be readjusted within the tiers. Partners will be notified of any changes to their tier status. Recharge reserves the sole right to use discretion when evaluating a partner's tier eligibility.
Select & Premier requirements
Recharge brand visible on partner’s website
Partners who have achieved Select or Premier tier are required to mention Recharge on their website. This can include adding the Recharge logo, your partner tier badge, linking to the Recharge website, including a short blurb on Recharge, or building out a Subscription Landing Page with reference to Recharge.
Subscription landing page
A subscription landing page is a great way to highlight your expertise in growing your subscription business. A framework with best practices and resources to support building out a subscription landing page on your website can be found in our co-marketing center in PartnerStack: Promoting subscriptions on your website. Premier partners should target having a subscription landing page built within 6 months of attainment of their Premier status.
Minimum sales-qualified projects
For tier elevation, the trailing 12 months of sales-qualified projects is used for evaluation. Sales-qualified projects are any referred merchants that are qualified and closed by the Recharge sales team on Pro or a Custom Pricing Plan, including upgrades.
Enablement of sales teams & project teams
In order to provide the best experience for our merchants, we want partners to be up to date on the latest Recharge product features and updates and require that both project and sales teams attend enablement sessions. We have extensive content in our Partner Academy to keep your team up to date on our latest products, features and best practices. At least one employee must earn each of Recharge Developer badge and Core Subscription Management Badge to qualify for the Select partner tier. In order to qualify for the Premier partner tier, partners must have at least one employee earn all available badges.
Program Benefits
Revenue Share
Partners are eligible for 12 months of revenue share for qualified merchant referrals. For more details on revenue share, please refer to the Terms.
Referrals
To make a merchant referral, you should complete the referral form in PartnerStack. If the referral is qualified, it will be marked as qualified in PartnerStack. A list of common questions regarding referrals and revenue share can be found at Recharge Agency Partner FAQs.
Referral expiration policy
Standard Plan qualified referrals expire after 90 days if the qualified lead has not converted to a customer, which is defined as both actively processing and having accepted billing terms in the Recharge portal, if the merchant is on Shopify. For Pro and Custom Pricing referrals, qualified leads expire after 90 days if the lead is not nurtured enough for an introduction to the Recharge sales team. Expired qualified leads will be marked as Closed Lost in PartnerStack. The lead can then be resubmitted for eligibility.
Store attribution policy
In order to appropriately and timely pay partners a commission under the Recharge Agency Partner Program, Recharge attributes Qualified Merchants (as defined in the Terms) to the referring partner agency. If a partner believes that a Qualified Merchant was not accurately attributed to their agency, the partner has 90 calendar days from the merchant’s first invoice from Recharge to notify Recharge. If partner believes a Qualified Merchant should have been attributed to its account for commission but fails to notify Recharge within this 90-calendar day period, the partner forfeits its right and is no longer eligible to earn a commission for such merchant.
You can notify Recharge of a missing attribution by emailing partneradmin@rechargeapps.com. Please include any relevant proof of involvement or details on your engagement with the merchant.
Revenue share expiration policy
Once a merchant becomes a Recharge customer and the first invoice is paid, partners have 90 days to set up their PartnerStack accounts to recieve revenue share for their referral. If the partner has not set up their PartnerStack account within the 90 day window, the partner forefits any revenue share for the merchant. “Setting up a PartnerStack account” is logging into the account and accepting the Recharge partner terms in the PartnerStack portal.
Partner Manager
Recharge Partner Managers serve as an extension of your agency within Recharge. They identify opportunities to help you achieve revenue and growth targets, enable you on how to sell and implement the Recharge product, help you navigate Recharge teams to support your merchants on implementations, and identify opportunities for collaboration. They act as a direct point of contact for elevating your relationship with Recharge and act as an internal champion for our partnership. Registered partners will be assigned a growth partner manager.
Recharge merchant referrals
Merchants often ask our team to recommend partners when they require agency support. Based on the project scope, merchant territory, and merchant budget, the Managed Services or Sales team will work with the Partner team to introduce agencies to the merchant, prioritizing agencies in the Premier tier. Merchants with small project needs, often identified by Recharge Customer Support, will be referred to the Recharge Partner Directory. Partners who have completed all available Recharge badges are eligible to be included in our partner matching program via our Partner Directory.
Partner directory listing
All partners have the ability to create a directory listing on our Recharge Partner Directory. Merchants use the directory to find and connect with Recharge partners that can help them with their Recharge projects. By creating a directory listing, a partner is authorizing Recharge to share the information provided and such information is subject to Recharge’s Privacy Policy.
ChargeX Invitation
ChargeX is the Recharge annual user conference. ChargeX is an exciting event that facilitates thought-provoking content & provides opportunities to build relationships with Recharge merchants and across the ecommerce ecosystem. Premier Agencies will receive an invitation to attend ChargeX and have the first opportunity to sponsor ChargeX and purchase tickets.
Marketing
Access to marketing assets & content hub
All partners have access to our marketing assets and social advocacy tool, which are available via the co-marketing center in PartnerStack. For access to the latest contents, partners should access the Partner Academy.
Co-marketing collaboration
We believe that the success of our partnership can be fueled by intentional joint activation in-market. This can take many forms - from content creation of case studies and blogs to running co-branded webinars and events. Our team will work collaboratively with you to determine joint strategic initiatives given the partnership stage, available funding and the tactics determined to work best to drive mutual success. Understanding where your targets are and how we can approach the market together to co-sell is to both of our advantages.
We will work with partners regardless of tier, but Premier partners will be prioritized in terms of opportunities to engage together and can expect to receive a higher-level of preference in the activity selection process. We also encourage all Select and Premier partners to take advantage of our MDF program (more information below) if they’d like monetary assistance within-market activation featuring Recharge. Sales & marketing assets are located in the resources and co-marketing sections within the partner portal.
Promoted in Recharge marketing
Events, initiatives, or content generated by Premier or Select partners may be promoted by the Recharge Partner Marketing team through Recharge channels such as social channels, the Recharge Podcast, the Recharge Blog, the Recharge Merchant Newsletter, or events & webinars.
Recharge Partner Market Development Funds program
The Recharge Partner Market Development Funds (MDF) program offers funding to support co-marketing activities and increase the opportunity for mutually beneficial partner-aligned brand awareness and lead generation.
Agency partners who have attained Select or Premier tier status will be eligible to request funding. Requests will be evaluated based on both the merit of the activity (type of activity and expected ROI) and available funding.
What are the steps in the MDF process?
- Determine whether your activity is eligible for the MDF program by reviewing the Activity & PoP Matrix.
- Submit the MDF Request form at least 30 days prior to the activity start date.
- Receive notification that your request has been approved.
- Execute the marketing activity.
- Submit your point of purchase (PoP) and invoice within 30 days of the activity date.
- Receive payment. The payment is Net 30.

All partners have access to our technical support team using the in-app support for technical questions and will be routed according to their tier or the merchant’s service level.
