How to set the run order for your Rewards programs
Set the run order for your Rewards programs to control which flows run first when a customer qualifies for multiple. When a customer qualifies for several active flows that trigger after an order is processed, Recharge runs all of them in the order you set. This guide explains how run order works, how to opt in, and how to set the order.
This guide covers setting the run order for Rewards flows. It doesn't cover one-time purchase flows or action-based flows.

How it works
Each active flow with an After order processed trigger runs for every customer who qualifies. Recharge runs the flows in the order you set, from top to bottom.
The order matters because flows can update customer tags, segments, and programs, and later flows can use those as conditions. An earlier-running flow can change which flows a customer qualifies for next.
Only active flows that trigger after an order is processed are in the run order. One-time purchase flows and action-based flows aren't included.
Step 1 – Set the run order
Drag your active flows into the order you want them to run. The Overview tab shows the current order.
- In the merchant portal, click Loyalty and select Rewards.
- On the Rewards homepage, click Set rewards program priority.
- Drag your flows into the order you want.
- Save your changes.
Step 2 – Review the order when you activate a flow
When you activate a new flow, Recharge prompts you to review the run order. This works from the guided setup form and from the flow canvas. A new flow starts at the top until you move it, so drag it to where you want it to run.
Examples
Use more than one flow to build programs like these:
- A separate program for each product
- Cash back on every order plus a milestone reward
- VIP Programs alongside your other Rewards flows
Considerations
Consider the following before you set your run order.
Consideration | Note |
|---|---|
| Automate flows | All Rewards flows run first. Automate flows run after them, in the order set for Automate. |
| Punch cards | If more than one active flow displays a punch card, customers see each one in the customer portal. To show one punch card per customer, use trigger conditions so each customer qualifies for only one of those flows. |
| Flows that aren't listed | One-time purchase flows and action-based flows don't appear in the run order. |
