How to manage existing bundles in Recharge
Bundles allow you to bundle multiple products to create a "build-your-own-box" experience.
This guide covers managing existing bundles in Recharge. Refer to Creating a customizable bundle and Creating a preset bundle to configure the initial bundle.

- Shopify Checkout Integration
Manage existing Bundles
Once you have created at least one bundle, click Products and select Bundles in the merchant portal to view and customize existing bundles.
To unpublish the bundle, adjust the product availability to Draft in the Shopify admin. This will hide the bundle on your storefront.
To remove the bundle product entirely, in the merchant portal click Products and select Bundles then click the trash can icon beside the bundle to be removed.
Update the bundle product for existing customers
The bundle price, frequency, charge date and other features can be updated in bulk by following the bulk update process outlined in Updating subscriptions in bulk.
Edit existing bundles
To update an existing bundle:
- Click the pencil icon on the bundle you wish to update.
- Click Got it in the pop-up to confirm that changes will take immediate effect.
- Click Edit in the section you wish to update.
- Configure the change and click Save and continue. Updates will be live as soon as you click save.
Update contents
Preset Bundles
To update the contents for all orders, both new checkouts and upcoming orders for current subscribers, adjust the content selections on the existing bundle.
- Click the pencil icon on the preset bundle.
- Click Got it in the pop-up to confirm that changes will take immediate effect.
- Click Edit beside Contents.
- Adjust the quantity, click the trash can to remove items, or click Add product to add additional products.
- Click Save changes. Updates will be live as soon as you click save.
It is not possible to update the bundle contents for individual subscriptions. Bulk product swaps are not compatible with preset bundles.
Customizable Bundles
Removing a product from the collection does not impact existing subscriptions that have selected that product, those customers will still receive that item. The product will be removed from future selection options and customers who have selected that item should log in and make a new selection.
To update the contents for existing subscriptions, bulk swap the contents.
Bundle selections can be adjusted through the merchant portal from either the Customer details page or Subscription details page:
- Click Customers in the merchant portal and select Customers from the dropdown.
- Click Edit bundle contents.
Note the following when editing bundle contents:
- Swapping or changing the variant of a bundle subscription removes the bundle contents and requires the contents to be re-selected.
- Bundle rules configured in the bundle settings must be followed (i.e. single item limits, collection limits, quantity limits).
Customize the bundles product page
Bundles offers two different layouts:
- The one-page layout minimizes clicks and maximizes conversions. This layout is normally used for simple bundles with only a few options. Customers set up their bundle on a single page.
- The multi-step layout maximizes average order value and is ideal for more complicated bundles. Customers are taken through a few different steps to create and review their bundle.
Click Customize bundle layout. This will take you to your Shopify front-end theme editor to make the customizations. In the theme editor, click Recharge Bundle to configure the theme setup for Bundles specifically.

Filters help customers seamlessly find products based on tags. You can view, customize, and delete filter groups. For more information on creating and assigning filter groups, see Product layout options.
- Click Manage filter groups and confirm that products have been tagged on Shopify.
- Click Create a new filter group to create a new group.
- Click the garbage icon to delete a filter group.
- Click the pencil icon to edit a filter group. Choose which tags you want to add or remove from the filter group, and click Save changes.
