Managing Credits in bulk
Use the Bulk Import tool in the Recharge merchant portal to apply or edit credits in bulk.

Overview
Use Recharge's Bulk Import tool to manage customer credits:
- Add credits to multiple customer accounts
- Update existing credit properties, including expiry dates, for multiple customer accounts
For example, you could issue credits to all customers who participated in a social media giveaway, or retroactively set an expiry date and encourage customers to use their credits by a certain time.
Step 1 - Build your CSV file
Upload the relevant customer and credit data to Recharge using a CSV file. Download a copy of Recharge's standard upload template to format your store data correctly:
- Click Bulk Updates from the Tools & apps tab in the Recharge merchant portal.
- Click Import updates.
- Select your update type:
- Select Issue credits to bulk add credits
- Select Update credits to bulk edit credits
- Click Next.
- Click upload template to download a copy of the standard CSV file.
Update the CSV file with the required information to bulk apply or edit credits and their properties. Remove Column A from the CSV file before importing your data to prevent upload errors.
Required data differs depending on the update type. The following charts outline the mandatory data you must include to process the bulk update successfully.

Step 2 - Upload your customer data
Use the Recharge Bulk Import Tool to issue credits to customers in bulk. Follow the instructions below to apply credits to customer accounts in bulk:
- Click Bulk Updates from the Tools & apps tab in the Recharge merchant portal.
- Click Import Updates.
- Select your update type:
- Select Issue credits to bulk add credits
- Select Update credits to bulk edit credits
- Upload your CSV file.
- Select Next to preview your data.
- Preview your data, confirm all headings are correct, and select Prepare update.
- After successfully importing your data, Recharge redirects you to the Bulk Update page. Click Process update to complete the bulk import process. Recharge applies or edit customer credits after processing the the bulk update,
