End-of-Life Policy and Feature Deprecation Guide
This guide outlines Recharge’s End-of-Life (EOL) policy, detailing the process for retiring platform features and products.
As technologies evolve and merchant needs change, some tools reach a point where continued development and support are no longer viable. The EOL process includes several phases, starting with ceasing new development and discontinuing sales, to winding down support, and ultimately removing the feature from the platform entirely.
You will always receive clear advance notice and comprehensive guidance to ensure a smooth transition.
Stages and definitions
The EOL process consists of four stages:
- End-of-Development: The feature or product continues to be available and supported, but Recharge will not introduce new functionality or enhancements.
- End-of-Sale: The feature is no longer available for new stores, although current users retain full access and support.
- End-of-Support: Recharge ceases all assistance, bug fixes, and updates for the feature.
- End-of-Life: Marks the complete removal of the feature from the platform, rendering it unavailable.
End-of-Life statuses
When a feature reaches end of life, you can choose to keep it turned on. However, Recharge does not provide additional support, bug fixes, or enhancements for that feature. If Recharge turns the feature off, we will notify you in advance.

Deprecation notices
Recharge communicates EOL announcements through multiple channels to ensure you have sufficient visibility and time to act. Recharge may display notifications directly in the dashboard for affected features. Recharge also notes changes in the changelog. Additionally, our team will update support articles related to deprecated features with clear guidance. In some cases, primary account contacts will receive direct email notifications outlining timelines and next steps.
Migration steps
Review your current configurations to determine if you're using a feature that is soon to be retired or is already deprecated. Recharge documentation and support will provide clear information on available replacements and guidance on how to implement them. Once an appropriate solution is identified, you are encouraged to plan your migration well in advance, ideally before the end-of-support date. After the new solution is in place, it should be thoroughly tested to ensure continuity before the legacy feature is removed.
