Key features
Starter and pro widget offerings
The Recharge Subscription Widget is available to all merchants, with additional features available depending on your plan type:
- Starter plan merchants: Use the Subscription Widget, which includes a built-in template that can be customized and styled to match your branding and enhance the customer experience.
- Pro and Custom plan merchants: Use the same Subscription Widget as Starter plan merchants, with additional advanced features, including the ability to perform A/B testing and track analytics on all product templates, products, flows, and A/B paths.
Customize the widget directly in Recharge
Customize the widget’s styling and labels, highlight your subscription offering using your preferred phrasing, and even more now directly in Recharge.
You create and design your widget in Recharge’s flow canvas, allowing for more in-depth customizations and greater control.
A/B testing and analytics
Pro and Custom plan stores have access to the Advanced Subscription widget, featuring A/B testing and analytics so that you can build and monitor the subscription widget experience and release enhancements based on customer data.
With A/B testing, you can add the A/B test node to the canvas to create two separate widgets and see which one resonates best with your customers. To understand your customers' preferences you can create two widgets and try:
- Using different wording to highlight subscription savings
- Testing alternating default selections
- Implementing different color schemes
Review your widget analytics, to understand how your customers interact with the widget, and use the data filters to get granular insights.
Use cases
Review the following use cases to understand how other merchants leverage the Subscription Widget:
Use case |
Description |
A merchant wants to understand what messaging better drives conversions. |
You can use the A/B test options to configure two separate widgets, which customers randomly see depending on the path they enter. When your A/B test period finishes, you can review your widget analytics to determine which widget resulted in higher conversion rates. |
A merchant on the Starter plan wants to encourage subscription opt-ins without redesigning their entire website. | You can customize messaging and styling directly in Recharge without additional coding or advanced customizations. |
